PowerTech Manchester 2017
From June 18 to June 22, 2017, project GReSBAS will participate in PowerTech 2017. This is the 12th IEEE PES PowerTech Conference – Towards and Beyond Sustainable Energy Systems, which this year will take place in Manchester (United Kingdom).

The Special Session where GReSBAS will participate takes place on June 21, from 9 am to 10:40 am, in rooms 2.219/2.220.

Five representatives of this ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus Project will be doing presentations on the project, whose goal is to enable the active participation of buildings in Demand Response programs through gamified competition between building owners using building automation technologies.

Mustafa Bagriyanik, from the Istanbul Technical University (Turkey), will do the first presentation with the title “Future of Demand Response and Expected Changes in Country Regulations”.

Filipe Joel Soares will be representing INESC TEC (Portugal) with the second presentation titled “Advanced Models and Algorithms for Demand Participation in Electricity Markets”.

“Building Automation Solutions for Smart Grid Applications and Possible Improvements” is the title of the third presentation by Unal Kucuk, from MAKEL (Turkey).

José Iria (INESC TEC, Portugal) will present “Optimal Supply and Demand Bidding Strategy for Aggregators of Small Prosumers”.

The session will close with the presentation by M. Alparslan Zehir, from the Istanbul Technical University (Turkey), titled “National End-User Awareness Analysis on Demand Response and Gamification”.
